FSSAI Return
As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) did not have a specific “return” filing requirement.
FSSAI Return
The primary responsibility of the FSSAI is to regulate and supervise food safety standards in India. It sets the standards for food products and issues licenses and registrations to food businesses. These licenses and registrations are required for different types of food-related businesses, such as manufacturers, distributors, retailers, importers, and exporters.
When applying for or renewing an FSSAI license or registration, food businesses need to provide various details and documents, including:
1. Business Information: Details of the food business, such as name, address, contact information, and type of business.
2. Food Category: Specification of the type of food products the business deals with or intends to handle.
3. FBO Type: Classification of the food business operator (FBO) based on the scale and nature of operations (e.g., small-scale, medium-scale, or large-scale).
4. Food Safety Management System: Information about the food safety management system in place, such as Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) or Food Safety Management System (FSMS).
5. Infrastructure and Machinery: Details of the infrastructure, machinery, and equipment used for food processing or handling.
6. Source of Ingredients: Information about the sources of raw materials or ingredients used in the food products.
7. Packaging Information: Details of the packaging material used for food products.
